A group of us made it along to the pub yesterday for a festive munch lunch (turkey + all the trimmings). I for one was so stuffed I thought I would explode. Thanks to Orchid for organising this!

Website poll
While you're browsing the Reading Munch site, please take a moment to vote in the poll (bottom right of home page). I'm interested in people's reason for visiting the site. It only takes a few clicks and is entirely anonymous.

November munch
Another great turnout last night - we managed to count 33 in total including some new faces and some old faces that we hadn't seen for a while (so welcome and welcome back)! We had our usual corner booked and all to ourselves for the whole time although we started spilling out towards the bar as the evening progressed.
Thanks to everyone who came along and hope we'll see you again soon...

New look website
The observant among you may have noticed a new look website starting from today. The new Blogger tools make it a lot easier for me to customise and extend the basic templates so I hope you like the new layout. Scorchy now has pride of place on the homepage along with a new hierachical view of the blog archives. I've also included a link to the excellent FAQ from UKMunchInfo which is a "must read" for all first-timers.
Comments welcome...(but remember I'll delete the ones I don't like).

Business as usual...
I'm pleased to report that the October munch passed off as usual. The pub had already decided to abandon the Thursday night karaoke so we were able to occupy our regular corner without interruption. Another good turnout too with 30 fab pervy folk joining in the chat.
Hope to see you all again next month...

October Venue Update (karaoke capers)
For the October munch, we will start in the Outlook at 8pm as usual. However, if the karaoke kicks off as threatened, we will decamp en masse to The Warkick (the pub across the road).
If you're arriving after 9pm, check the Outlook first and if we're not there in our usual corner we will be at the other pub.

Onwards and upwards
Reading Munch is going from strength to strength, attracting 25 folk in July and 31 in August. There was a great atmosphere last Thursday night with a good mix of regulars and new faces. As Joss takes a back seat, Natasha is now kindly helping me with the munch organisation. With the introduction of the new non-smoking laws, it means it's now much easier for us to book our regular area (inside and round to the right as you come in the door) as we are no longer monopolising the only non-smoking area of the pub. Thanks to Natasha we were able to do this this month and plan to do so in the future.
See you in September!

Bloomin' June
Thanks to everyone who came along and made the June munch another great evening. The pub was busier than usual and we had to wait to get seats in our usual corner. We did send [name withheld to protect the guilty] in to try to scare them off but some of them just would not be budged. We equalled our record from the previous month of 21 folk - if numbers stay at this level we will see if we can book the tables in the future. It's really gratifying to see a growing bunch of regular faces but we also had five newcomers and hope to see them again soon. I'm also very pleased to be getting feedback that people are finding the group very friendly and non-cliquey - long may it continue...

May munch feedback...
We had a crackin' good munch in May. Here is some feedback from the Yahoo! group (now with over 50 members):
Just wanted to say congratulations on a brill, successful munch tonight, there was a great vibe, the 'crisp buffet' is becoming a habit too, we totally took over the non smoking section in perverts corner. It was great to see some familiar faces and some new ones too! so hello all the newbies! and to hit that magic '21' mark, thats fantastic! and a BIG hello to TIGGER the feisty new feline, who we cant decide whether he is a sub/dom or switch? (scorchy is definately sub)hope to see you all again soon! xxx
Seconded! The pervs are slowly coming out of the woodwork! I knew they were in there somewhere ;) Perhaps if the weather gets better, we could organise a picnic in one of the parks this summer, on a weekend of course. Who would be up for that?
It was certainly a good munch :) We certainly seem to be growing month by month, thanks to everyone who turned up and it was great to see you all again along with quite a few new people!A picnic sounds like a great idea to me :D
A picnic would be a great idea - [we] were talking about suggesting something for the weekend only last night!!! Yeah yeah yeah .... I know something for the weekend used to mean something quite different!! LOL Great munch last night - come on you guys now start getting to the clubs!!!! hee hee

Snow Munch?
A big thank you to Durbin for filling in at the February munch in my absense (and for braving the weather too). In spite of the snow, quite a few folk made it into central Reading and a good time was had by all accounts. Hopefully, March will be back to normal in all respects (except for the people, of course)...see you there.
