December Munch

Our last munch of 2009, and a busy one it was with just under 30 people. This year we've had lots of new people join us and it's nice to see you all every month now. They do say you need to attend a munch three times before you feel like a regular, so I guess that makes most of you regulars!

Thank you to whoever brought the chocolates along too.

Finally, the munch organisers would like to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a Spanking great new year!

Remember Remember the Munch in November

Well done to all those who braved the torrential downpours in Reading this month to make it to our Munch. I counted 23 of us, but there may have been more (I'm too little to see over the heads of everyone). We had a few new faces turn up aswell as the reappearance of some long-lost friends. Everyone was on good form and as the pub was relatively quiet, it was a very nice relaxed evening.

Apart from the bit where 7 or 8 of us piled into The Purple Turtle that was!

Munch Christmas lunch will be on Saturday 19th December - please send me an email if you wish to attend. It's open to all. No venue as yet but it'll be somewhere local and not overly costly. Make sure you're signed up to our Yahoo Group to receive details.

October Munch

Wow! - An incredible 32 people and SO many newbies. I think you all had a pretty good time didn't you? I'm sorry I didn't get to speak to everyone but I think I managed to say hi to all of you at least. We had the run of the downstairs bar this month. It was a great ambience and everyone was on form, so thanks for coming.

Just so you know, 32 people is the record number of people matched. We HAVE to try and beat this before the year end - seeing as I set you all the challenge at the beginning of 2009.

Speaking of which, as Fionula rightly pointed out to me, it's only two more munches until Christmas. I need to start planning our Christmas lunch then I guess. The Christmas lunch is usually on a Saturday afternoon during December and everyone is welcome. It is likely to be in a restaurant in Reading and I usually have to take deposits from you beforehand. I will post more information in the coming weeks, but if you are interested in coming along, please let me know:

Uh-oh, I'm in trouble!

So who was it then? Own up! Who telephoned the pub to see if the munch was on and landed us in a spot of bother?!! For everyone's information, we hold our monthly meetings at a local pub in Reading, but it's an informal arrangement which has nothing to do with the management there, so please always refrain from contacting them directly, as they will not be able to help.

The munch is on every second Thursday of the month and you can also keep in touch by registering onto our Yahoo Group.

September's month was rather friendly and it was nice to see a few new faces. Apologies if I didn't get around to chat with you, I WAS trying to do the rounds!!!

See you again next month - October 8th.

Did anyone spot the summer?

It all seems to have been a bit of a wash/grey out this summer. We've certainly struggled to organise another picnic. Still we had 29 people at the August munch (which just goes to show you can't dampen the pervy spirit). Next munch is 10th September. See you all there...

Picnic Time Munchers!

>>>NEWS: The picnic is definitely ON<<<

After nearly a whole month offline, waiting for my new connection to be made live in my new house, I’M BACK!!!

So, who’s up for our first picnic? According to the BBC weather website, this Saturday (20th June) will be 22 degrees and SUNNY – how about we meet up at 2pm on the grass of Thames Promenade, Rivermead Park? This park is on the opposite side of the river to where we usually have our picnics, but The Caversham Gardens have not yet been re-opened. Thames Promenade has public loos and a coffee kiosk. I know it’s short notice, so if we can’t get the numbers this weekend, we can postpone it for a week or two.

June munch (and how to keep in touch)

Busy munch last week - 27 or so I counted. The pub was quiet for a change so we had no trouble occupying our favourite spot downstairs in the bay window. I got there late (work intruded) so it was great to see the munch in full swing when I arrived (to the inevitable "about time" comments).

I've been asked a few times recently about getting on the munch mailing list. This is not something I maintain any more. There are two ways of keeping in touch: the main one is to join the Yahoo! group (click here) where you can request email updates including reminders of upcoming munches. The other way is simply to keep an eye on this site for general news and announcements. You can also subscribe to this blog as an RSS feed (or via other sites such as My Yahoo! or your Google home page) - links on the right-hand side of the page.

As it's summer thoughts are turning towards another munch picnic - hang out with your favourite pervy friends al fresco! Details via Yahoo!...

May Munch

A little up on April's munch attendance with at least the 28 people I managed to count. Thank you all for the birthday wishes - I hope you enjoyed the cake!

A few up-coming events were discussed which we may look into organising a convoy of cars for, so we're looking for willing drivers. Events include The Boat, London Fetish Weekend, The Rubber Ball and various ST and other regular events. As it's almost summer (really??) we'll also be organising the first of our summer picnics soon, so watch out for details. And finally, if anyone fancies organising their own party, I'm sure you'll find lots of willing attendees from our munch - just send an invitation through our Yahoo Group.

Easter Munch

We had a good turnout last night - around 25 I counted (not bad for a holiday weekend with a lot of folks heading off). And some new faces too - always good to see. I often get emailed in advance by newcomers asking if it's ok to just turn up and the answer is universally, yes! We are not a club that requires membership, just a bunch of like-minded folk who meet up in a pub once a month for a chat, a drink, and maybe a bite to eat. I think newcomers sometimes find us all a bit ordinary looking and the conversation a bit everyday. This must be frustrating and/or disappointing if it's your first ever munch and you are expecting a "full on" fetish event. Nevertheless, the conversations don't have the normal boundaries that you find in vanilla settings so, if you persevere and earn people's trust, you will I'm sure find it a rewarding experience...

Busy busy busy March!

Well, we *almost* broke the record with 30 people in attendance (record is 32). It was a busy one with a really great vibe in our own area in the downstairs bar. I was surrounded by laughter and smiles. Lovely!

Very nice to see some old friends and of course, to meet some new ones. We're always happy to see you all.

I like The Copa as a venue. Whilst our munches are vanilla in dresscode, there is always space to congregate in our large group and the staff are very friendly. Plus they sell great food, serve good ale and make lush cocktails.

You should come!

Next Munch: April 9th.

February Munch

Thanks to all those who braved the snow, floods and other weather this month, to make it out to the munch. I myself couldn't make it, having another verrrrry important function I couldn't really get out of!! I'm told there were a few newbies amongst our regulars. I'm also told that a couple of our ladies were a little bit sore-headed and worse for wear today too! Naughty naughty - on a school night too!

Don't forget your 10% off at Puss In Boots in town. Happy Valentine's Day and see you at the next Munch: March 12th from 7.30pm.

Happy New Year

Thanks to all of you who ventured out on a very frosty evening this month. Roughly 20 people turned up to what was a very pleasant and sociable evening.

The Reading Munch crowd is probably one of the most friendly in the area. Plus, most of us don't just keep it to monthly munches. We regularly meet at clubs, lunches, parties and dinners. Personally speaking, I've made some very good friends in the time I've been going. If you have been thinking of joining us and haven't yet made it out, make 2009 your year to do it!

Next munch is February 12th. The Valentine Munch. See you there!
